Dr. Yiannis Miralis is Assistant Professor of Music Education and Saxophone at the European University Cyprus. His music education interests focus on multicultural education and music, world music pedagogy, early childhood music education, instrumental music education and qualitative research. In addition to music education he is also an active saxophonist and member of various ensembles such as saxophone quartets, chamber music groups, the Cyprus Big Band, a saxophone orchestra, etc. He has given concerts and performances in Canada, USA, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Greece and Cyprus and numerous composers have dedicated their works to him. In his free time he enjoys conducting the Paralimni Symphonic Band and to listen and play Greek and Cypriot music.
